A Preamble based Carrier Frequency Estimation Approach for B-FWA OFDM systems

A time-domain algorithm has been described for carrier frequency estimation in Fixed Broadband Wireless Access OFDM systems. It has been evaluated in two different radio frequency bands, in the 5.8 GHz band under Non Light of Sight (NLOS) conditions and in the 10.5 GHz band under LOS conditions. It makes use of a novel preamble structure that gives an averaging enhancement and allows carrier frequency tracking and acquisition by a single-symbol preamble. Flexibility in the selection of the threshold level eases the complexity of the practical implementation.
